Thanks to Reba for the pic and for the positive energy!
With me we never really know if and which Jocelyn will show up on race day (or any other day for that matter). That's just the way it goes. The sun, moon and stars have to align sometimes. I'm getting better at accepting that and going with it. There was no celestial alignment yesterday. I even talked to Mike about bailing on the race during my warm-up because I knew I wasn't all there. I decided to go with it and see what happens. Just finish the damn thing. The mud part was just an added bonus that made me smile.
Me likes the mud.
All in all it turned out to be a good thing. This was the first race I've actually "raced" in a really long time. I had to fight and suffer and that self inflicted pain reminded me how much I love to do this. It's given me hope. Hope can be a dirty four letter word sometimes. I've tried to stay away from using and feeling that word for the last couple of years because hope can lead to let down and misery. I can honestly say that today (dare I write it?) I have hope. That's a pretty good feeling.
You did great, So prowd of you....;-)
